Believing

Today the pastor of the church I attend was giving a message about Christians and how believing really isn't enough. For example, there could be people in the health profession who believe that smoking is bad, and yet many still smoke. What's the point?

Our beliefs really need to call us into action, and if it doesn't how are we any different than those who don't believe in Christ? Of course, this is all a process, and as humans, we will continue to make mistakes and fall short, but that is a part of our relationship with God. Love really does drive this change in us.

It's when we believe but don't act that we make a bad name for Christians. This is a great disservice and turns many people off from religion. I regret the times that I haven't been following closely enough. Yet, the great thing is that God can use us wherever we are.
